It has dark brown leaves and contrasting red-purple young shoots, which makes the plant unique. So unique, in fact, that the plant was awarded a silver medal at Plantarium , the international trade fair for tree growers and plant lovers. The shrub grows to a height of 2 to 3 metres . It grows best in shade or partial shade, remains green in winter and flowers profusely from May onwards.
Plant height up to 200cm.

General info
Rhododendron or rhododendron is a hardy plant with an exuberant bloom. The literal translation is 'rose tree', perhaps because of the beautiful, brightly colored flowers and full shape - some shrubs can grow quite large. The variant of Bestselect is a unique mix of purple-growing young shoots, dark brown leaves and dark pink flowers.
Maintenance
Rhododendrons are acid loving plants. They thrive well in humus-rich, well-drained sandy and sandy loam soils. They like shade or partial shade and require sufficient nutrition and moist soils. The ideal time to plant is spring or autumn. Cut back your rhododendron by a third shortly after flowering to maintain the plant’s shape.
