Buddleja Argus Velvet
The Buddleja ARGUS® Velvet has a great ornamental value due to its beautiful shape, the inflorescence and the leaf colour, especially as an accent plant in public green areas and in the garden. This Buddleja requires a moderately nutritious, dry to moist, sandy soil in a sunny spot. The ARGUS butterfly bushes tolerate summer heat quite well, provided that the location is sufficiently moist. Can be combined well with woodland edge and border plants, provided that they are not planted too close to them.

General info
Butterfly bushes form beautiful clusters that attract butterflies. Bestselect offers two varieties that no longer spread in an uncontrolled way. One plumes are white and stand nicely upright, the other are purple and bend gracefully.
Maintenance
The plant must be pruned every year in springtime, after the last frosty spell. It is possible to cut the plant back to minimum 15 cm or maximum 40 cm above ground level (knee-height), which implies that a small part of the branches of the previous summer is not touched. These dormant buds will produce new shoots.
